CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) — Teachers, volunteers, and private partners have joined forces through Brigada Eskwela to ensure a safe, clean, and learner-friendly environment at Nueva Ecija High School (NEHS) ahead of the opening of classes.
NEHS Master Teacher Jojie Liwaya Paltao said Brigada Eskwela plays a crucial role in preparing the school and safeguarding learners, who remain the top priority of the annual initiative.
“Brigada Eskwela is not only a one-week activity. It is a year-round commitment to ensuring the safety and welfare of our learners,” Paltao said.
Paltao emphasized that school readiness requires the collective effort of teachers, parents, local government units, civic organizations, and volunteers, known as Brigada Heroes.
Their assistance helps address campus maintenance needs, including tree pruning, environmental cleanup, and facility improvements, particularly during the rainy season.
She expressed gratitude to stakeholders who continue to donate essential supplies such as paint, brooms, and other cleaning materials, helping schools meet operational needs while easing the burden on teachers and limited school resources.
Among the organizations supporting this year’s Brigada Eskwela is Every Nation Campus Cabanatuan, which donated cleaning materials to NEHS and other public schools in the city.
According to Campus Director Lowell Mark Ramos, the organization believes that investing in students means investing in the nation’s future.
“We actively support every Brigada Eskwela initiative across our public school campuses here in Cabanatuan, driven by our belief that the youth are the hope of our nation. They are our future leaders and entrepreneurs—the very future of our nation,” Ramos said.
Aside from providing cleaning supplies, the organization also offers leadership development, life skills, mental health seminars, counseling services, and scholarship assistance through its partnership with the Real LIFE Foundation.
Ramos noted that a clean and orderly school environment helps students focus on learning and supports their overall development.
As volunteers from various sectors, including members of the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Army, continue to participate in campus improvement activities, NEHS remains optimistic that all preparations will be completed before classes begin.
The strong partnership among schools, communities, private organizations, and government stakeholders reflects the Bagong Pilipinas vision of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., which promotes shared responsibility in providing Filipino learners with safe, inclusive, and quality education.
