CONG POGI RECEIVES PDL-MADE PRODUCTS

FIRST DISTRICT, Pampanga – Congressman Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. receives handbags and decor made by Persons Deprived of Libery (PDL), personally brought by BJMP Regional Director Chief Superintendent Ma. Annie Espinosa, Jail Superintendent Edmund Llamasares, and Jail Senior Inspector Marivic Milo during their visit to Lazatin’s office on September 10, 2026.

The products are part ofthe livelihood program of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) for PDLs.

“Malaki ang suporta natin sa mga ganitong livelihood programs para sa mga PDL dahil ang pag-aaral ng mga bagong kakayahan ay nakakatulong sa kanilang rehabilitasyon at eventual reintegration sa lipunan,” Lazatin said.

During his time as Angeles City Mayor, Lazatin strengthened the City’s ‘One Town, One Product’ (OTOP) Program and regularly featured PDL-made products at the OTOP store.

Earlier, Lazatin also purchased Christmas wreaths hand-made by the wards of the Angeles City Social Welfare and Development Office Home for the Girls, or Bahay Pag-asa.

“Kilala ang Pilipinas sa pagkakaroon ng ‘longest Christmas celebration’ sa mundo, at pinaghahandaan natin ito sa pamamagitan ng pag-suporta sa local Christmas crafts,” Lazatin said.

Last Holiday season, Lazatin also purchased the mini Christmas Trees made by the wards of Bahay Pag-Asa.

When he was Angeles City Mayor, Lazatin led the rehabilitation of the Bahay Pag-asa, which received its accreditation also during Lazatin’s time.
