Rebel voluntary surrenders in Bulacan

Camp General Alejo S Santos, City of Malolos — A member of Malahutayong Pakigbisog Alang sa Susunod (MAPASU) voluntarily surrendered to authorities in Bulacan’s 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, San Rafael, Bulacan, on April 4, 2023.

According to the report to PCOL RELLY B ARNEDO, Provincial Director of the Bulacan PPO, Alyas Kamandag was a former member of Malahutayong Pakigbisog Alang sa Susunod (MAPASU) operating in the Province of Surigao del Sur. He was recruited in 1996 and left the organization in 2013.

Alyas Kamandag, a 41-year-old farmer from Brgy. Mapulang Lupa, Pandi, Bulacan, turned over one (1) cal. 38 without a serial number with four (4) live ammunitions and black powder placed in a tin can.

Personnel from the 2nd Platoon of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, led by PCPT MICHAEL V VILLORIA, facilitated the surrender. The team was joined by personnel of the Pandi MPS, Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit, PIT Bulacan, Bulacan 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, and 70th IB, Philippine Army.

Alyas Kamandag’s surrender is a significant accomplishment in the government’s efforts to end the insurgency in the country. He will undergo an investigation and custodial debriefing while under the custody of the 2nd PMFC.
