Controversial contractor Curlee Discaya arrived 10:AM at the Bulacan Regional Trial Court after his arrest over a non-bailable malversation of public funds case on Monday morning.
He was brought inside the Bulacan Provincial Jail past 12:nn from RTC Branch 20 after the issuance of the commitment order. The proceedings are under the jurisdiction of Judge Mirasol Ong Dynchinco.
Discaya is facing cases involving alleged malversation of public funds, falsification of public documents, and violations of anti-graft and corruption laws.
The malversation charge is non-bailable, while a bail of ₱90,000 has been set for the graft and corruption case against Discaya.
DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla said that Discaya will be treated the same as an ordinary person deprived of liberty (PDL) and not as a VIP as well as the rest of the accused.
Remulla told reporters that there were eleven accused of said criminal charges and nine of them have already been arrested, while two remain at large and the subject of a manhunt.
