Bulakenyos encourage to stand up for women and children
GOV. DANIEL FERNANDO

Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando encourages all the Bulakenyos to stand up for women and children’s rights through participating on the Orange Day Campaign on November 25, 2021 that marks the beginning of the “18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW)”.

The campaign is pursuant to Proclamation 1172, Series of 2006 from November 25 to December 12 of every year and “National Consciousness Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Children” as stated in the Republic Act No. 10398, Series of 2012.

In accordance with Resolution No. 094 Series of 2018, Bulacan participates and supports the Orange Day by encouraging public and private institutions to unite in the campaign to end the widespread and persistent violence against women and children by wearing orange on that day and every 25th of the month.

“Matagal na nating ipinaglalaban ang karapatan ng mga kababaihan at ng mga bata, hindi dahil sila ay mas mahina sa pisikal, kundi dahil lahat tayo ay may pantay-pantay na karapatan. Sama-sama po tayong magsuot ng may orange, ipakita natin ang ating paglaban sa karahasan sa mga kababaihan at sa mga bata, sama-sama nating gawing ligtas ang ating pamayanan para sa lahat,” Fernando said.

Moreover, the Provincial Government of Bulacan and Panlalawigang Komisyon para sa Kababaihan ng Bulacan (PKKB Bulacan) laid out some activities including Seminar with PGB employees on RA 7877 Anti Sexual Harassment on November 26, Seminar on RA 11313: Safe Spaces Act for Konsehong Pambayan ng Kababaihan and public through FB Live Streaming on November 29.

Further, they will hold online Legal Consultation through Seminar/Forum with Atty. Anicia Marquez for Anti-VAWC Law for Women of Bulacan on December 1 and 3, 2021.
