FORT MAGSAYSAY, NUEVA ECIJA – Soldiers of the 31st Mechanized Infantry Company of the 3rd Mechanized Infantry (Makatarungan) Battalion (3Mech Bn), in collaboration with the Tarlac Provincial Police Office (PPO), Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) and KASIMBAYANAN (Kapulisan Simbahan at Pamayanan) a volunteer organization joined hands in securing the province of Tarlac during Halloween.
The joint teams were formally given their mandate in a send-off ceremony conducted for the “Ligtas Undas Team” held at Camp Gen Francisco Macabulos, Barangay San Vicente, Tarlac City last October 28, 2022.
The said send-off ceremony took place prior to the actual deployment of the Ligtas Undas Team to various locations in Tarlac to maintain peace and order during the Halloween season.
In a statement, Police Colonel Erwin O Sangue, Provincial Director of Tarlac PPO said, “Tayo ay magdedeploy ng personnel mula sa kapulisan, kasundaluhan, PDRRMC at iba pang personnel volunteers sa mga kalye, transport/terminal, sementeryo at sa mga simbahan to ensure that UNDAS 2022 ay tahimik at ligtas.
Lieutenant Colonel Jeszer M. Bautista, Acting Commanding Officer of 3Mech Bn, assured that the unit is working with other government agencies to promote peace and order in the unit’s area of responsibility during the upcoming Halloween season.
Major General Andrew D Costelo, Commander of the 7ID, stated, “Ngayong nalalapit na Undas ating alalahanin ang mga namayapa nating mga mahal sa buhay, lagi niyong tandaan na katuwang ninyo ang Kaugnay Division na handang tumulong sa lahat ng oras upang mapanatili ang kapayapaan at kaligtasan”.
