MOTORCYCLE THIEF KILLED IN BULACAN ENCOUNTER

CAMP General Alejo S Santos, City of Malolos — A suspected motorccycle thief was killed in a hot pursuit operation that ended in a gunfight in Brgy Batasan, San Miguel, Bulacan, on June 2, 2022.

PCol Charlie Cabradilla, Provincial Director of Bulacan Police Provincial Office said that the victim identified as Rey Pangilinan, of Brgy Ilog Bulo, San Miguel, Bulacan went to the police station and filed a complaint after his matte green Yamaha Mio Soul motorcycle was forcibly taken by the two unidentified malefactors who took off in the north direction at 11:22 PM on June 2, 2022.

Authorities were promptly alerted, and a high-speed chase was initiated. When the following police officers arrived at the San Miguel-Candaba Bypass Road in Brgy Camias, San Miguel, Bulacan, they saw two motorcycles parked on the side of the road, where the riders were changing their clothes. One of the suspects suddenly drew his firearm and opened fire on the incoming officers.

After an exchange of gunfire, one of the suspects received fatal bullet wounds and was later identified through his passport as Robin Atazar, while his unidentified cohort immediately mounted his motorcycle and escaped.

Seized were one (1) .38 caliber revolver with SN836726; 4 fired cartridge casings of .45 caliber; ten (10) .22 caliber cartridges; one (1) Matte green Mio Sporty motorcycle without plate number; one (1) black sling bag containing two (2) passports, one (1) Huwaei android phone; one (1) power bank, PHP 400.00 cash, assorted cards; and one (1) black backpack with clothes inside.
