CHAMPIONS OF TRUTH: DIGITAL WRITERS’ GUILD LAUNCHES WITH HIGH-LEVEL SUPPORT

MALOLOS CITY, BULACAN – Vice Governor Alex Castro formally endorsed the Bulacan Digital Writers Guild (DWG) during a recent courtesy call, hailing the organization as a significant milestone in the evolution of provincial journalism. In an exclusive interview, the Vice Governor praised guild members as champions of “true and factual news”—a critical distinction in a media landscape challenged by misinformation.

“It is good that a group like this exists; we are leveling up the standards for press and media work in Bulacan,” he stated.

Castro acknowledged the risks associated with uncoordinated journalism but expressed full confidence in the guild’s ability to establish a new benchmark for responsible reporting. He noted that while ensuring clarity and structure in media operations is essential, initiatives like the DWG are vital for the province to keep pace with the evolving demands of modern communication.

The guild unites prominent voices from the Philippine media industry, including established figures from print and influential leaders of online news platforms. Interest in the initiative has extended beyond national borders, with international journalists expressing an eagerness to join.

“We are establishing robust guidelines and processes to ensure everything is in place before expanding access, thereby fulfilling our commitment to elevate Bulacan’s media community,” stated a guild representative.
