CONG POGI AND STAFF TO DONATE SALARY FOR TYPHOON TINO, UWAN VICTIMS

FIRST DISTRICT, Pampanga – Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. is set to donate P 100,000 from his own salary for the victims of Typhoon Tino and Uwan in Negros Oriental.

“Lubos ang aking pakikiramay sa ating mga kababayang nasalanta sa matinding hagupit ng mga nagdaang bagyo,” Lazatin said.

“Mula sa Unang Distrito ng Pampanga, ipinaaabot namin ang aming panalangin, pagmamahal, at pakikiisa,” he added.

As of November 6, the National Disaster risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reports at least 114 dead — including 71 from Cebu, 18 from Negros Occidental, 12 from Negros Oriental, six from Agusan del Sur, two from Southern Leyte, and one each for Antique, Bohol, Capiz, Iloilo, and Leyte.

Meanwhile, 127 people have been reported missing and 82 were reported injured.

As of writing, the total number of affected families is 544,081. Of this number, 127,827 families are being sheltered in 4,933 evacuation centers.

Back in October, Lazatin also donated part of his salary to the earthquake victims in Bogo City, Cebu and Davao Oriental, giving P100,000 each.

Lazatin’s Chief Adviser, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Asec. IC Calaguas, and Chief Political Affairs Officer Reina Manuel are also set to give personal donations of P25,000 each.

The Red Pillars Foundation, headed by Calaguas and Manuel, will also donate P 50,000 for the earthquake victims.

Members of Lazatin’s Congressional Staff have also pledged to donate – P 1,000 each for plantilla and P 300 each for rank-and-file employees.

Lazatin also stated that his office will tone down Christmas party celebrations for this year and send donations to typhoon victims instead.

“Kasama ninyo kami sa inyong pagdadalamhati at kaisa ninyo kami sa inyong muling pagbangon,” Lazatin said.
