1K police personnel deployed for Holy Week

CAMP Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga –Police Regional Office 3 Regional Director PBGen Mathew Baccay revealed that the entire Central Luzon police force is set and remains on its toes as it implements the public safety campaign for the entire summer holiday season dubbed as “Ligtas SumVac 2022”.

“I gave directives to all City/Provincial Directors from the different Police Provincial/City Police Offices to ensure the safe and secure travel of motorists and commuters this coming Lenten Season and summer vacation. As a matter of fact, we have already deployed more than 1K personnel regionwide on April 1,” the Regional Director said.

He further stated that police presence is being intensified through increased foot/mobile patrols and establishment of Police Assistance Desks/Centers (PADs/PACs). Also, road safety marshals are being deployed in convergence points particularly in bus terminals, airport, seaports and recreational areas including highways, main thoroughfares and crime prone areas to ensure maximum police presence.

More so, he instructed all commanders to coordinate with local government units (LGUs), non-government organizations (NGOs), and other government entities and volunteer groups in establishing PADs/PACs and in deploying Road Safety Marshalls for a collaborative and unified delivery of public safety services and assistance.

“We have also solicited the support of our force multipliers and auxiliary forces to include our BPATs (Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams) and Radio net groups to help us ensure public safety since criminal elements may take advantage of people converging in places such as beach and other tourist destinations for relaxation and recreation,” Baccay added.

“I am calling for the cooperation of the public to prevent any crime in the community by providing authorities relevant and timely information through PRO3 hotline 0998-5985330/ 0917- 5562597 and social media (facebook account: www.facebook.com/ Police Regional Office 3),” he stated.

“SUMVAC 2022” will remain in effect from April 1 to May 31, 2022.
