Soldiers train IP students first aid, survival skills in Zambales

FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – Troops of 70th Infantry (Matapat at Matatag) Battalion (70IB) of 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division (7ID), Philippine Army trained students belonging to our Indigenous People (IP) on First Aid and survival skills that include basic knot tying at Sitio Lomibao, Barangay Buhawen, San Marcelino, Zambales last October 29, 2022.

 

Students of Judd Hendricks Memorial Aeta Integrated School (JHMAIS) learned valuable lessons from the troops of Bravo Company, 70IB led by Sergeant Jestoni Alejandria together with Mr. Rommel C. Paje, school Head of JHMAIS who discussed and performed basic skill in knot tying, lashing and first aid kit that coincided with the 86th Boy Scout of the Philippines Charter Anniversary and 2022 National Scouting Month.

Lieutenant Colonel Ronnel B. Dela Cruz, Commander of 70IB emphasized the importance of building strong relationship with different stakeholders through various training and lectures.

 

Meanwhile, Major General Andrew D. Costelo, Commander, 7ID expressed his gratitude to the troops of 70IB for gearing-up our IP students with knowledge on first-aid and basic survival skills. “This simple act of reaching out to the local community has a big impact on the hearts of our IP students, the Kaugnay Division will continue to extend its helping hand in capacitating IP communities in any means possible”, Costelo concluded.
