CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga- In its last ditch efforts to warn the public and prevent firecracker casualties this Holiday season, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) bares the list of the 225 firecracker zones all over Central Luzon.
Among these areas are 16 from Aurora, Bataan -8, Bulacan -51, Nueva Ecija- 31, Pampanga -22, Tarlac- 60, and 37 in Zambales.
PRO3 Regional Director BGen Cesar Pasiwen said that there are also 88 fireworks display zones in including 4 in Aurora, 6 in Bataan, Bulacan has 21, Nueva Ecija- 28, Pampanga -11, Tarlac- 8, Zambales- 8, and Angeles City-2.
“We once again appeal to the public to refrain from using illegal firecrackers to avoid any injuries. Instead of firecrackers, we could all welcome the New Year with other forms of merriment,” said Pasiwen.
No firing of guns for PRO3 cops
Meanwhile, police who will be caught firing their weapons indiscriminately during the long holidays will not be exempted from arrest.
Pasiwen issued the warning as he ordered the entire Central Luzon police force to tighten up on the indiscriminate firing of firearms.
“We will be very strict in hunting down those indiscriminately firing their weapons. These include our own men, our brothers in the military, security guards, and civilian firearm holders. Those who will be caught firing their firearms indiscriminately to welcome the New Year will be arrested and charged,” CL’s top cop said.
Moreover, in support to the “OPLAN: Iwas Paputok” of the Department of Health (DOH) and in adherence to the directive of PNP Chief PGen Rodolfo Azurin Jr to attain “zero casualty” within police headquarters, Pasiwen remarked that the PRO3 as well as the different Provincial/City Police Offices all over the region is declared as “No firecracker zones”.
“I have also directed all provincial and city directors to coordinate with their barangay officials to establish common firecracker zones in their areas to promote the safe use of legal firecrackers and we have already released the list. We continue to conduct series of inspections among firecracker stores within the region to prevent the selling of prohibited firecrackers which pose danger to the public,” he said.
Pasiwen also appealed to the public to be extra cautious to prevent them from being victimized by lawless elements especially during these Holidays.
“We will intensify our efforts to prevent any unscrupulous activities to take place so that all may enjoy the festivities since there will be no Holiday Break for us,” he added.
