POLICE ARREST MAN INVOLVED IN ILLEGAL PRODUCTION OF FIRECRACKERS

A resident of KM.41, Brgy. Pulong Buhangin, Santa Maria, Bulacan and was caught manufacturing fireworks without the necessary permit from authorities.
Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga— Authorities apprehended an individual involved in the illegal production of firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices within a residential area in Brgy. Pulong Buhangin, Sta. Maria, Bulacan on Friday, December 29.
 
According to reports presented by PCol Relly Arnedo, Provincial Director Bulacan PPO to PRO3 Director PBGen Jose Hidalgo Jr., the collaborative operation led by the Sta. Maria PS, alongside the Civil Security Group-Firearms and Explosives Office (CSG-FEO) and Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), resulted in the arrest of a 31-year-old male suspect who is a resident of KM.41, Brgy. Pulong Buhangin, Santa Maria, Bulacan and was caught manufacturing fireworks without the necessary permit from authorities.
 
The seized items from the suspect’s possession include 200 pieces of ‘kwitis,’ 40 pieces of unfinished ‘fountain,’ 30 pieces of cylinder ‘fountain,’ 100 pieces of unfinished ‘kwitis,’ and one fourth (1/4) gallon of unfinished ‘sawa,’ totaling to Php 10,000.00.
 
A criminal complaint for violation of R.A. 7183 has been filed against the arrested suspect.
 
PBGEN HIDALGO JR said that this highlights the police’s unwavering commitment to enforce pyrotechnic laws and uphold public safety since the illegal production of firecrackers in residential areas poses significant risks to community safety, leading to accidents, injuries, and property damage.
