Mass Withdrawal of Support to Communist Terrorist Group Occurred in Bataan 

FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – 40 members of Alyansang Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luzon (AMGL) withdraw their support to the Communist Front Organization (CFO) and withdrawal of support from Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) at Bataan Provincial Police Office, Camp PFC Cirilo Tolentino, Capitol Compound, Balanga City Bataan on August 31, 2022.

The activity was facilitated by the 70th Infantry (Matapat at Matatag) Battalion in partnership with the Bataan PPO-3, Department of Interior and Local Government, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Office of the President Adviser on the Peace Reconciliation and Unity, and the Department of Trade and Industry.

The Withdrawal of Support Team, represented by Police Colonel Romell A Velasco, Provincial Director Bataan PPO 3, was elated due to the success of the Withdrawal of Support activity and witnessed the Ceremonial burning of the CPP-NPA-NDF flag and later on conducted food relief distribution.

In his statement, Lieutenant Ronnel B Dela Cruz, Commanding Officer of 70th IB assured that the government has ample programs that will support the former rebels and mass supporters to start a new life along with the government. 

On the other hand, Major General Andrew D Costelo, Commander of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division extends his gratitude to the supporters who have recently withdrawn their support to the CTG.

“With the intensive campaign against CTG, our compatriot has been enlightened that the Communist Terrorist Group had been deceiving and exploiting them for a long time,” MGen Costelo added.
