FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Agrarian Reform and Department of Trade and Industry in Tarlac reassured full assistance to the 3rd Mechanize (Makatarungan) Battalion to support livelihood programs for former rebels.
The agreement is a result of the dialogue between 1st Lieutenant Jefferson V Tungpalan, Civil Military Operations Officer of 3Mech Bn and the different government offices in Tarlac on August 5, 2022.
1LT Tungpalan discussed the current situations of former members of KLG-TARZAM who surrendered recently. He elaborated the benefits that they FR received under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Jeszer M Bautista, Acting Commanding Officer of 3Mech Bn emphasized that giving enough attention and prioritizing giving jobs and livelihoods to former member of KLG-TARZAM is one of many ways to show the sincerity of the government to give them another chance to start a normal life with their family.
On the other hand, Major General Andrew D Costelo, Commander of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division elaborated that giving financial assistance to the FR is not enough for their sustainment, the government must provide a long-lasting opportunity for the former rebels to grow and live a normal life.
