43 former rebels get ECLIP financial aid in Nueva Ecija
FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – The Enhance Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) Committee of Nueva Ecija headed by Governor Aurelio M Umali together with the 84th Infantry “Victorious” Battalion facilitated the awarding of financial assistance to 43 former members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) held at Nueva Ecija Provincial Police Office Gym, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija on August 05, 2022. 
 
More than two million worth of cash assistance was received by the former rebels. Each of the beneficiaries received cash assistance amounting to P15,000 – P65,000 in check which they hoped to contribute in the start of a livelihood together with their families. 
 
During the program, Brigadier General Joseph Norwin D Pasamonte, Commander 703rd Infantry (Agila) Brigade hoped that today would mark the foundation of unity for the good of the country and for the next generation. 
 
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Colonel Enrico Gil C Ileto, Commanding Officer 84IB reiterated its call to all remaining CTG members to abandon now the communist terrorism and avail the ECLIP program to live peacefully together with their families. 
 
“Kami ay nagagalak sa inyong buhay ngayon na malaya at malayo sa pananakot, kasinungalingan at panlilinlang sa loob ng komunistang grupo na hindi kailanman tinanggap ng sambayanang Pilipino. Ang inyong kinalalagyan ngayon ay pagpapatunay na may magandang kinabukasan sa labas ng armadong pakikibaka”, Ileto added.
 
In his statement, Major General Andrew D Costelo, Commander of 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division is hopeful that this event will be a pathway for other active rebels to see how sincere the government is in helping and supporting those who wish to embrace peaceful life alongside the government.
