Lazatin to provide paints, various materials to public schools for brigada eskwela

ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. will personally donate cement, paint, and various materials to the city’s 53 public schools for Brigada Eskwela. 
Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin Jr will donate paint, cement and other materials to be needed by 53 public schools for Brigada Eskuwela.
This donation, out of Mayor Lazatin’s own capacity, is to assist public schools once face-to-face learning resumes.
In addition, this is to complement as well the educational programs of the city government under his administration.
“Una po ang edukasyon palagi sa ating mga prayoridad. After two years, ngayon pa lamang po tayo nakakabangon, lalo na sa mga adjustment natin sa education set-up,” Lazatin said.
“Kaya napakaimportante po na handa, maayos, at ligtas ang ating mga paaralan sa pagsisimula ng klase sa Agosto,” Lazatin added.
Lazatin further shared that the city government will provide free uniforms, school supplies, and even shoes to public school students, including Day Care learners.
Lazatin announced this during his inaugural speech last June 30, also saying that “poverty must never be an excuse for not giving our children a chance for a brighter future.”
To recall, in pursuit of assisting public school students and teachers, and scholars from the City College of Angeles amid the pandemic for digital learning — 63,200 tablets were distributed with access points for internet connection installed throughout the city. Students are using  internet learning cards for better access to internet.
The city also distributed risograph machines, bond paper and ink supplies, and markers to the 53 public schools last September 2021 to assist them in reproducing learning modules.
Lazatin’s chief adviser and tactician IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel will also be donating computers sets to 10 selected public schools.
