Lazatin to conduct surprise drug test to 6,670 barangay officials, workers 

ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. is eyeing to subject all 6,670 barangay officials to undergo the same drug test conducted on 4,500 City Hall workers. 
 
 In the coordination meeting presided by Lazatin’s trusted adviser and political officer IC Calaguas, she said that Lazatin plan to complete the illegal drug test on all barangay officials and workers at the soonest possible time in line with the mayor’s plan to declare the city government as drug free. 
 
 “A team from Angeles City Anti-Drug Abuse Council and City Health Office will administer the surprise drug test,” Calaguas explained. 
 
 All 33 barangay councils has passed a resolution adopting the drug free work place policy of the city government. 
 
 Under the policy, those who will be tested positive will undergo six month rehabilitation shouldered by the city government. 
 
 Association of Barangay Councils President Councilor Danilo Nacu supports Lazatin’s program.  
 
“Maganda po itong program ni Mayor Pogi dahil kami dapat sa barangay ang maging ehemplo sa laban kontra droga,” Nacu said.
