Lazatin thanks PAGCOR for food aid to 300 tricycle drivers

ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. expressed his sincere gratitude for the food donation made by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) led by Andrea Domingo to 300 indigent tricycle drivers on Wednesday, May 25.

“Maraming-maraming salamat po sa PAGCOR, for being our partner always in ensuring the welfare of our kababayans. Alam naman po rin natin na isa sa lubos na naapektuhan ng pandemya ang public transportation sector natin,” Mayor Lazatin said.

PAGCOR coordinated with the city government to deliver the food packages right away to the selected 300 indigent drivers from the Balibago Operators Tricycle Driver Association (BOTDA).

Dubbed “Pagkain para sa Masa,” the event in the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall paved the way to distribute rice, vegetables, and eggs to the indigent drivers.

The distribution of the said food donation was led by Public Transportation Regulatory Office (PTRO) Officer Jerome Feliciano.

Feliciano said the sector of public transportation is among those being given attention by Mayor Lazatin.

“Nais ko pong ihatid ang aking pasasalamat, dahil lagi pong napapansin at natutulungan ang hanay ng transportasyon,” he added.

It should be recalled that amid the pandemic, public transportation suffered with some 15,000 jeepney and tricycle drivers receiving P1,000 cash assistance from the city government.
