ANGELES CITY — Two months after its establishment, the Kapebaluan will soon serve something new — an iced tea with a twist.
This was confirmed by Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, who said that Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. wants to expand the café’s offerings, bringing to 20 the flavors included on the menu.
The new tea is made out of kamias, Angeles City Economic Development Investment and Promotions Officer-in-Charge Irish Bonus-Llego said. Bonus-Llego is managing the cafe with the supervision of Manuel and Chief Adviser IC Calaguas.
“Naisip po ng city na kamias ang gamitin dahil madalas po hindi naman napapansin ang mga ito, kung hindi lang din naman kailangang gamitin sa pagluluto. With that po, naisip itong pakinabangan ng city na gamitin sa ititimplang iced tea na ise-serve sa Kapebaluan,” Bonus-Llego said.
The newest iced tea will be price-friendly, priced at P150 for a regular size.
Aside from the kamias iced tea, the Kapebaluan is serving four other varieties of drinks such as coffee (kape), non-coffee (alang kape), signature (tatak), and barista.
The Kapebaluan, a project of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., showcases Angeleño produced coffee and tea, to assist local farmers. It is located at the ground floor of the City Library in Barangay Sto. Rosario.
