Gintong Kabataan 2026: Courage Over Fame, Service Over Titles

The youth of Bulacan do not require fame, accolades, or public recognition to effect positive change; rather, they are defined by the courage to act, integrity in service, and a commitment to communal welfare. This sentiment served as the cornerstone of the Gintong Kabataan 2026 Araw ng Parangal, held last Friday at the Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center Pavilion.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando emphasized the vast opportunities available to today’s youth while acknowledging the complex challenges they navigate in an evolving global landscape. He reminded the awardees that they need not resolve every problem simultaneously.

Assistant Secretary Michael Christophe R. Agustin, National Youth Commission Commissioner for Luzon, noted that every notable achievement is built on unseen effort and hardship long before awards or public attention arrive. He said these difficult moments become valuable lessons that young people can pass on to inspire others.

Several outstanding youth and youth groups from different towns across Bulacan received main awards this year. Honorees excelled in academics and science, sports, arts and culture, entrepreneurship, community service, youth leadership, and professional work. Special citations were also given to young Bulakenyos who brought pride to the province through national and international competitions, top licensure exam rankings, and acts of quick‑thinking heroism.

Richard C. Santos, who received recognition as an outstanding young government worker, spoke on behalf of all awardees. He said this milestone is not the peak of their journey, but a reminder that more work lies ahead.
