DPWH, Angat LGU hold groundbreaking ceremony for new MDRRMO building

Department of Public Works and Highways and the local government of Angat in Bulacan conduct a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office building. (DPWH Bulacan 2nd DEO)

STA. MARIA, Bulacan — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the local government of Angat in Bulacan conducted a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) building.

 

The infrastructure will be located at the Municipal Evacuation Center Compound in barangay San Roque.

 

DPWH Bulacan 2nd District Engineer George Santos said the three-story building was designed to withstand a magnitude 7.5 earthquake.

 

“The Ground floor will house the MDRRMO Operations Center. It will have an ambulance station, information desk and lobby,” he furthered.

 

The second floor, on the other hand, shall house a communication room, an assembly hall, and various offices.

 

And lastly, the third floor consists of a water tank, sleeping quarters for rescuers, a gym station, an electrical room, a locker area, a drying and ironing area, and a fire exit.

 

Construction will be implemented in phases with the first having an allocation of P9.7 million under the 2023 General Appropriations Act.
