The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) expressed support for the Philippine Wood Producers Association (PWPA) in the conduct of the PHILWOOD Expo and Conference 2026 in Central Luzon.
In his message, Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo said the wood industry plays an important role in economic progress, particularly in generating jobs and livelihood, supporting enterprise development, trade, design, construction, manufacturing, and innovation.
He added that building a sustainable wood industry requires the cooperation of government, industry leaders, foresters, manufacturers, designers, investors, suppliers, communities, and other stakeholders involved in the responsible use of forest resources.
“We commend the PWPA for providing a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and practical action, noting that the conference may open more opportunities for partnership and meaningful solutions for a greener, more resilient, and more competitive Philippine wood and furniture industry,” Pablo ended.With the theme “From Forest to Future: Revitalizing the Philippine Wood Industry for the Next Generation,” the event seeks to strengthen dialogue and collaboration toward a more productive, competitive, and sustainable wood industry.
