FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – The 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion (91IB) of the 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division (7ID), Philippine Army (PA) celebrated its 5th founding anniversary with Major General Andrew D. Costelo, Commander, 7ID as the Guest of Honor and Speaker held at Sinagtala Gym, Brgy Calabuanan, Baler, Aurora last Wednesday November 16, 2022.
The unit celebrated the event with the theme: “91st IB @5: highly capable and modernized Sinagtala troopers towards excellent service in sustaining peace and progress”.
Maj. Gen. Costelo pointed out that the celebration is another phase in the performance of the battalion’s mission and uphold peace and development particularly in Aurora and nearby areas in Nueva Ecija.
“As the 91IB carried out its mandated task through self-sacrifice for the greater good. The efforts of the unit have echoed into multitude of ripples of service and action in unison with the government, civilians and private entities and promotes confidence building and supports the active defense posture of the military. Public confidence is enhanced through constant dialogues with local leaders, religious leaders, respected elders and different sectors within the area of operations,” Costelo said.
Likewise, Costelo expressed his sincerest gratitude to Aurora Representative Romel Rico T. Angara for the construction of Sinagtala gym, Laang-sibol officers and non-commissioned officers’ barracks worth P22M from the national government build-build-build program.
On the other hand, Lieutenant Colonel Julito B. Recto Jr., Commanding officer of 91IB, 7ID, PA said that through the years, the battalion remained valiant and steadfast in the performance of its duties and responsibilities.
Recto also recognized the efforts of the past commanders for making the 91st IB as one of the best performing battalion of the Philippine Army and extended his sincerest appreciations and compliments to all service men who are performing their splendid efforts and devotion to duty. Also, He acknowledged the full support of the private sectors and local officials in the province for the unwavering support to the battalion’s program and local peace engagement.
