Zambales LGU, soldiers spearhead blood donation

FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – The local government unit of San Marcelino, Zambales headed by Hon. Mayor Elmer Regadio Soria conducted a voluntary mass blood donation held at San Marcelino municipal Plazuela, Zambales last November 17, 2022.
Personnel from Bravo Company, 70th Infantry “Matapat at Matatag” Battalion of 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army actively joined the said blood donation activity together with the municipal and provincial health office of San Marcelino District Hospital and Philippine Red Cross.
The event was done to help in addressing the emerging need of ample blood supply not only for the people of San Marcelino but also of nearby municipalities. A total of 60 blood bags were accumulated during the activity.
Lieutenant Colonel Ronnel B. Dela Cruz, Commanding officer of 70IB expressed his sincere commitment to actively engage in activities that will promote welfare of the populace in the unit’s area of responsibility.
Meanwhile, the Commander of 7ID, Major General Andrew D. Costelo emphasized, “Blood donation initiatives are significant in order to help save fellow Filipinos in need. It is one way of showing the spirit of Filipino brotherhood most especially during rigid times.”
