CALAGUAS, MANUEL EXPRESS FULL SUPPORT FOR ALLYSON HETLAND DURING HOMECOMING EVENT

Department of Transportation (DOTr) Assistant Secretary IC Calaguas and Chief Political Affairs Officer Reina Manuel extended their congratulations and full support to Allyson Hetland during the Homecoming of Miss Supranational Philippines 2027 held on May 19 at the Royce Premier Ballroom.

The event, organized by Miss Universe Pampanga headed by Michael Cacai Muñoz in partnership with the Office of First District Congressman Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr., together with Calaguas and Manuel, celebrated Hetland’s inspiring rise from local pageantry to the international stage.

According to Manuel, Cong. Lazatin expressed pride and happiness over Hetland’s achievements, saying it had always been one of his dreams during his term as Mayor of Angeles City to see a Mutya Ning Angeles titleholder eventually represent Pampanga and the Philippines on the national and international stage.

“Napakasarap sa pakiramdam na makita na natutupad na ngayon ang isa sa mga pangarap ni Cong. Pogi para sa Mutya Ning Angeles. Mula Angeles City, ngayon ay dala na ni Allyson ang bandera ng Pampanga at ng Pilipinas,” Manuel said.

Manuel also expressed her gratitude to Muñoz of Miss Universe Pampanga for his dedication and guidance in handling Hetland throughout her pageant journey.

Calaguas likewise commended Hetland for serving as an inspiration to young Kapampangans through her grace, determination, and dedication.

“Malaking inspirasyon si Allyson para sa mga kabataang Kapampangan. Bitbit niya hindi lamang ang kanyang pangarap kundi pati ang pride at puso ng Pampanga,” Calaguas said.

In preparation for the coronation night held last May 2, the office of Lazatin, with the help of Calaguas and Manuel, also arranged banners and lightsticks for Hetland’s supporters to further energize and strengthen the cheering crowd during the competition.

Hetland, a resident of Barangay Pandan, was crowned Mutya Ning Angeles 2024 — the final titleholder under the administration of former Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. before the end of his term on June 30, 2024.

She also previously served as an ambassador of Angeles City’s One Town One Product (OTOP) program, actively supporting local products and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

It can be recalled that Calaguas and Manuel served as committee heads of Mutya Ning Angeles during Hetland’s reign.
