SINEliksik Bulacan, the documentary festival of the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Provincial History, Arts, Culture, and Tourism Office (PHACTO), bagged the Grand Champion for Best Program for Culture and the Arts on the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines-Department of Tourism (ATOP-DOT) Pearl Awards held at the Taal Vista Hotel, Tagaytay City on Thursday.
Representing Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Chief Operating Officer Maria Margarita Montemayor-Nograles, Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conventions, Exhibitions (MICE) Manager Arnold Gonzales recognized the role of the local government units and stakeholders on the country’s road to recovery after the pandemic’s disruptions on the tourism industry.
“With the secretary herself coming from the LGU, this allows us to clearly understand the needs of the community and build a stronger foundation as we work our full recovery. The involvement of the LGUs and support of our stakeholders in planning and decision making is essential in order to achieve the long-term interests of the tourism industry,” Gonzales said.
Acting Governor Alexis C. Castro, who received the award together with PHACTO Head Dr. Eliseo Dela Cruz and Provincial Administrator Antonia Constantino, thanked the ATOP-DOT for recognizing the efforts of the PGB on promoting the rich culture and heritage of the great province.
“Ang Lalawigan ng Bulacan ay mayroong mayamang sining, kasaysayan, at kultura. Ang mga programang katulad ng SINEliksik Bulacan ay nag-aanyaya sa mga kabataan na magsagawa ng komprehensibong pananaliksik at maidokumento sa pamamagitan ng masining na pamamaraan ang mga pamanang ito. Sa tulong nito, maging ang mga susunod na henerasyon ay makaaalam ng ating dakilang pinagmulan,” Castro said.
Aside from the documentaries produced through the docufest, heritage books and posters about Bulakenyo heroes were made that now serves as learning materials for the teaching of Araling Panlipunan in partnership with the Department of Education.
