CITY OF MALOLOS – The Bulacan Provincial Library (BPL) was recently recognized as one of the 2021 Top Performing Libraries with the highest number of clients served for provincial level by the National Library of the Philippines’ Top Performing Public Libraries for C.Y. 2021 (Physical Library Users and Online Services Users).
Managed by the History and Heritage Division of the Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (PHACTO), the BPL has served a total of 375,628 users.
In addition, the National Library of the Philippines also recognized the Monthly Report Completers for C.Y. 2021 including the BPL for the Provincial Library category; City of Meycauayan Library and Mini Heritage Museum for City Library category; Baliwag Municipal Library, Aklatang Bayan ng Bustos, Plaridel Municipal Library and Pulilan Municipal Library for Municipal Library category.
Meanwhile, Governor Daniel Fernando commended the BPL for the recognition it has brought to the province and for the services it continuously provides to cater the needs of the reading population.
“Ang ating Panlalawigang Aklatan ay may mahalagang gampanin sa ating lipunan; ito ay lugar ng kaalaman. May pandemya man, bukas at patuloy itong nagbibigay ng pagkakataon sa ating mga Bulakenyo na mapag-aralan ang mayamang kasaysayan, kultura at literasiya ng ating lalawigan lalo na sa ating mga estudyente at mga mananaliksik,” the governor said.
The BPL is the pioneer among all the public libraries in Bulacan which is located at the Gat Blas F. Ople Building, Sentro ng Kabataan, Sining at Kultura ng Bulacan, Capitol Compound here.
