GAPAN CITY Mayor Emerson “Emeng” Pascual on Tuesday was formally proclaimed by the Provincial Board of Canvasser as the official winning candidate and the new 4th District representative in Nueva Ecija.
Pascual was proclaimed around 5:00PM at the old provincial capitol of Nueva Ecija.
He garnered 177,046 votes far from his opponent incumbent Cong. Maricel Nagano who only garnered 153,599 votes.
Mayor Emeng, the current Gapan mayor, ran alongside with his sister Joy Pascual was also proclaimed replacing him together with re-elected vice mayor Dodong Bautista and the whole ticket.
Mayor-elect Joy Pascual vowed to continue the program and legacy made by his brother.
Pascual served two terms as chief executive of Gapan City as he won in 2016 and re-elected unopposed in 2019 before he decided to run as representative in the said District.
