Reaffirms Readiness, Intensifies Security Preparations for 40th EDSA Anniversary

Camp OIivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — In line with the Philippine National Police’s intensified security posture for major national events, Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) actively participated in the Final Coordinating Meeting for the 40th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution on February 20, 2026.
 
PCOL Deonido S. Maniago Jr., Chief, Regional Operations Division, together with key officers from the Regional Operations Division and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3 under PLTCOL Cornelio Ordanza , joined the virtual meeting from the War Room of the PRO3 Multi-Purpose Building at Camp Captain Julian Olivas.
 
The meeting was presided over by PMGEN Anthony A. Aberin, Regional Director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO). Security plans, deployment strategies, intelligence monitoring, traffic management, and contingency measures were thoroughly discussed to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the national commemoration.
 
PRO3 Director Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr emphasized that all preparations are anchored on the Chief PNP PGEN Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr’s  PNP Focused Agenda and PRO3’s strategic direction — the 3Ps: Protect the People, Pursue Peace and Order, and Promote Professionalism.
 
“Our preparations for the 40th EDSA Anniversary reflect our commitment to the PNP Focused Agenda and our 3Ps. We Protect the People by ensuring their safety, Pursue Peace and Order through strategic deployment and close coordination, and Promote Professionalism in the disciplined execution of our duties. PRO3 remains fully prepared to support NCRPO and will readily augment their forces as needed to guarantee a peaceful and secure commemoration.”
 
PBGEN Peñones Jr further underscored that PRO3 maintains operational readiness and sufficient reserve forces, ready for immediate deployment to assist the National Capital Region Police Office should the situation require reinforcement.
