Key officials of the Diosdado Macapagal Government Center (DMGC) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Regional Office III and Pampanga 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) on January 9, 2025 discussed proposed projects within the 18-hectare complex in Barangay Maimpis, City of San Fernando, which houses over 50 government offices.
DMGC Chairperson and current Philippine Information Agency (PIA) – Gitnang Luzon Director William Beltran, joined by National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Region III Supervising Administrative Officer Rowena Victoria David and Mr. Jesito Ponio, Jr., presented proposals to improve unpaved road sections, drainage systems, and construct comfort rooms, multi-level parking structures, and other facilities to enhance the functionality and service delivery of the government center.
Beltran emphasized the need for regular maintenance of the DMGC to ensure its infrastructure remains optimal, which led to their request for assistance from the DPWH.
DPWH Assistant Regional Director for Region III Melquiades Sto. Domingo and Planning and Design Assistant Division Chief Anatolio Mendiola, Jr. affirmed the requests and emphasized the need to prepare the necessary documents for funding.
Meanwhile, District Engineer Almer Miranda and Assistant District Engineer Alfie Lejarde expressed full support and committed to assisting with the surveys needed for the preparation of the proposal documents.
The discussion, also attended by Engr. Kristine Dizon and Engr. Christopher Magtoto, included updates on the proposed conversion of roads within the compound into national roads to ensure proper maintenance by DPWH Pampanga 1st DEO.
