CITY OF MALOLOS — The Provincial Government of Bulacan remains steadfast in its commitment to providing work opportunities in the province as 15 Bulakenyos were hired on the spot during the recently conducted job fair for local and overseas employment organized by the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PPESO) at Robinsons Place Malolos here.
Fourteen different agencies participated in the job fair, offering a combined total of 959 job vacancies for successful applicants. Meanwhile, data from the PPESO showed that 638 Bulakenyos participated in the event in search of local and international opportunities.
Luisito Pascual, Jr. from the town of Paombong, who was hired on the spot as a service crew member for the Jollibee Robinsons Malolos branch, shared how grateful he is for the opportunity given to him and spoke about how difficult it is to find a decent job these days.
“Sa sobrang hirap po ngayon mag-apply ng trabaho, buti po ‘yung ating mga [LGU] ay nag-o-organize ng mga job fair. [Kaya] maraming salamat po sa mga ganitong programa. Sana po ay tuluy-tuloy [ito] dahil sa ganitong mga job fair po ay natutulungan ang ating mga kababayan na magkatrabaho,” he said.
Melody Dela Cruz, a Maloleña hired for the same position at the same company as Pascual, expressed her gratitude to the PPESO for opening opportunities for people like her who want to help their families.
“Thank you po sa PPESO po dahil sa job fair na ito hindi lang po ako ang matutulungan pati na rin po ang iba’t ibang tao na nangangailangan po ng trabaho,” she added.
Moreover, a total of 48 applicants—24 males and 24 females—were considered near hires out of the 392 qualified participants from different parts of the province.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando, through his representative James Santos, said he is proud to know that most of the applicants at the job fair were members of the youth sector, adding that they made the right decision to attend the event and pursue their dreams.
“Marami pong mga kabataan ngayon na hindi hindi iniisip ang kinabukasan na darating para sa kanila at kanilang mga pamilya, pero kayo po na narito ay namumukod-tangi [na] tumitindig at humahanap ng [pagkakataon para sa] inyong pangarap, hindi lang para sa inyo [kundi] para din sa inyong mga mahal sa buhay,” he said.
