Camp Captain Julian Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — After more than a year of intelligence monitoring and coordination among police units, authorities successfully arrested the two suspects including a 44-year-old man for brutally killing his wife, their three-month-old daughter, and their house helper in 2024 during a law enforcement operation in Barangay San Vicente, Baguio City on May 15, 2026.
The operation was carried out by personnel of Sta. Cruz Municipal Police Station (MPS), Provincial Intelligence Unit of Zambales Police Provincial Office (PIU ZPPO), in coordination with Police Station 8 of Baguio City Police Office (CPO) and Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR).
The accused was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Hon. Marifi P. Chua, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 70, Iba, Zambales, for the crime of Parricide under Article 246 of the Revised Penal Code. The case, docketed under Criminal Case No. RTC-18109-2026-I, carries no recommended bail.
It was learned that the suspect is the primary accused in the killing of his wife identified as Lynette Metra, a medical doctor, their three-month-old daughter Amanda, and their house helper Dayanara Naranja in Sta. Cruz, Zambales in December 2024 — a tragic incident that deeply affected the local community.
The victims were found dead with multiple stab wounds in bodies inside their house.
Authorities said the husband suspect had reportedly gone into hiding as well as his cohort following the incident before their whereabouts were eventually traced through intelligence and monitoring efforts, leading to his arrest at around 2:15 PM in Baguio City.
Both arrested suspects are now under the custody of Sta. Cruz MPS for proper documentation and legal procedures.
PBGEN Jess B. Mendez, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 3, commended the operating units for the successful arrest and underscored the importance of continued coordination among police units in the pursuit of wanted persons.
“This operation reflects our commitment to ensuring that persons facing serious criminal charges are properly brought before the law. No matter how long it takes, our police units will continue to work together to locate and arrest individuals who attempt to evade justice,” Mendez said.
The successful operation forms part of the continuing intensified campaign against wanted persons in line with the PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C Nartatez Jr’s PNP Focused Agenda on enhanced police operations and public safety.
