BAGAC, Bataan — Samahan ng Malayang Kababaihan ng Bagac Inc. (SAMAKABA) celebrated its first anniversary as an organization.
In her message, SAMAKABA President Helen Tolentino thanked the different government agencies for supporting them.
“Our first year has been successful because of the assistance given by different government agencies such as Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Agriculture, and National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) in helping uplift the lives and livelihood of the women in Bagac,” Tolentino said.
She shared that DSWD provided P15,00 to each member as an initial capital for their desired business.
Moreover, DTI distributed P15,000 worth of Kabuhayan kits as an additional capital. It also conducted skills training in production of dishwashing liquid and fabric conditioner as a possible source of income of the organization.
For her part, NICA Regional Director Ma. Luisa De Guzman assured the organization will continue to receive the promised assistance from the government and hopes that they will help to empower more women in the town.
SAMAKABA disaffiliated from the Communist Terrorist Group last March 2021. It currently has a total of 120 members.
