UNIQLO Philippines and SM Foundation Inc. have partnered to equip emergency response of communities with the upgraded Emergency GoKit+.
With the distribution led by SM employee-volunteers, about 43 high-risk barangays in Zamboanga Del Sur, Rizal, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, Pampanga, Bulacan, Isabela, and Cagayan received Emergency GoKit+
In the province of Bulacan, 9 barangays received emergency GoKit+. These barangays were pre-selected in advance by the LGU and DSWD, and came from communities that are considered to be among the most vulnerable and remote areas in the province. Recipients include Barangay Buguion and Frances in Calumpit, Barangay San Isidro in Hagonoy, Barangay Poblacion in Guiguinto, Barangay San Lorenzo and San Mateo in Norzagaray as well as mountainous communities in Barangay Sapang Bulac, Kalawakan, and Kabayunan in Dona Remedios Trinidad.
“Dahil nakatira kami dito sa bundok, malaking tulong ang donation na GoKit+ sa mas mabilis na pagtugon namin sa mga emergencies. Makakatulong din ito sa panahon ng kalamidad at sakuna” says Brgy. Kabayunan Health staff Lucila Casimiro.
The compact and portable GoKit+ contains essential medical supplies such as first-aid items, pulse oximeter, thermometers, aneroid sphygmomanometer, portable medical oxygen, and medicines.
Through this partnership, UNIQLO Philippines and SM Foundation hope to empower local health centers and at-risk barangays in providing better first-aid responses when calamities or other emergencies occur.
