CAMP General Alejo S Santos, City of Malolos — An unidentified armed store thief was killed during an armed encounter in Brgy. Sulivan, Baliwag, Bulacan on Sunday, October 9, 2022.
PCol. Relly Arnedo, OIC Bulacan Police Provincial Office said that the Baliwag Police promptly responded upon receipt of a report on a convenience store being robbed on Sunday at about 1:50 AM in Brgy. Sulivan, Baliwag.
The two armed suspects took and carted away the still un-estimated amount of cash and escaped on board a motorcycle leaving the victims unharmed.
During the pursuit operation, two unidentified individuals on board a motorcycle, fitting the suspects’ description were flagged down by the operatives of Baliwag MPS but instead of stopping, sped away which resulted in a chase down.
As they were cornered, one of the suspects’ engaged in a gunfight with the responding police officers that led to his death, while his cohort managed to escape.
Recovered were four (4) pcs fired cartridge cases of caliber .45, one (1) Armscor pistol cal .45 with one (1) magazine & five (5) cartridges and one (1) belt bag containing cash amounting to Php 4,240.00.
