SM, LGU host Pulilan Bike Fest 2021

SM Center Pulilan in partnership with the Local Government provided a year-end treat for Bulakenyos with the recent Pulilan Bike Fest 2021 bringing together several bike enthusiasts and notable biker organizations in the province. 

Agility, strength plus adrenaline rush were present on every racers vying to win the XC race hosted by the LGU and SM during the Pulilan Bike Fest 2021.

For the past years, the Municipality of Pulilan has been active in integrating cycle racing events with local tourist attractions; taking sports as a carrier to promote tourism through the annual Pulilan Bike Fest.

Marking the milestone, SM Center Pulilan have collaborated with Pulilan Local Government in staging the XC race held at the SM Center Pulilan Bike trail.  The race not only provided exciting opportunities for cycling enthusiasts but also promoted camaraderie and sportsmanship as well as tourism.

“We are glad that SM Center Pulilan Bike Trail was again chosen to be the venue of this year’s Pulilan Bike Fest. As shared during the launch of the SM Center Pulilan Bike Trail last year, we are happy to share the same goal with the Local Government, that is to advocate for a healthy lifestyle and environment-friendly activity while providing a safe, convenient, and enjoyable biking experience beyond the pandemic through this worthwhile activity” shares SM Center Pulilan Assistant Mall Manager Alvin De Galicia. 

Notable biker groups and bike enthusiasts from Bulacan and nearby towns participated in the race. With safety still on top, all participants are required to be fully vaccinated prior to entering the competition. 

Participants show their cycling prowess as they compete in four categories that include: All Pulilan, Men’s Open, Women’s Open, and 35 years old and above.  The race is composed of 8 laps with a total length of 1.3km. There were a total of 76 XC Race Registrants, while Fun Ride Registrants recorded 295. 


Fans were ecstatic as Ariana Dormitorio, the undisputed queen of Philippine mountain bike racing, once again took part during the event and conquered the trail together with the aspiring mountain bike racers on a spin-off race. It can be recalled that Dormitorio graced the launch of SM Center Pulilan Bike Trail last year, coinciding with the Pulilan Bike Fest 2020. 

The Pulilan Bike Fest event is made possible through the generous support of the Municipality of Pulilan led by Mayor Maritz Ochoa-Montejo, and the Municipal History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (MHACTO).
