TARLAC CITY — Securities and Exchange Commission-Tarlac Extension Office (SEC-TEO) and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Central Luzon sealed the deal to assist and train Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) on filing annual reports.
This initiative is part of the commission’s commitment to establish and sustain a campaign network for investor education down to the grassroots level.
In a statement, SEC TEO Director Richard Laus explained the essence of the partnership towards public service.
“This partnership will intensify our sincere commitment to provide quality services to our clients, especially to our NGOs and non-profit organizations who are closest to our hearts because they share their time and resources with the poor, disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals and communities,” Laus said.
For her part, DSWD Regional Director Marites Maristela thanked the commission for engaging in the activities of the department for NGOs and Social Welfare and Development Agencies.
“We do not want to make it appear to our accredited organizations that regulatory services are burdensome, that is why through this partnership with SEC, we can continuously assist them in complying with their documentary requirements,” Maristela said.
In line with this, SEC-TEO served as resource speakers in the series of face-to-face seminars conducted during the 2nd Quarter Cluster Meetings of the accredited organizations held in the provinces of Tarlac, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan, Zambales and Nueva Ecija.
Topics in the seminars include online filing of annual regulatory requirements, amending reports, and securing Certificate of No Derogatory Record.
Ako ang Saklay, Inc. of San Antonio, Nueva Ecija and Regional Area-Based Standards Network President Arnold Abelardo expressed his gratitude on behalf of all the registered organizations for the opportunity to learn the services in complying regulatory reports.
“Thank you, SEC team who went around to different provinces in Region 3 to capacitate us on SEC procedures. Our loads in our organizations have been lighter because of this collaboration,” Abelardo said.
SEC continues to collaborate with various government agencies in promoting online submission annual reports to avoid delayed submissions and penalties, and informing the public on investments scams.
