Registered Angeleño solo parents to receive financial assistance, rice subsidy, Vitamin C

ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. will begin the house-to-house distribution of ₱1,000 cash assistance, five kilos of rice, and 3-month supply of Vitamin C supplements to 2,500 registered solo parents from the city’s 33 barangays on March 1, 2023.

Mayor Lazatin will jumpstart the distribution of aid in Barangays Amsic (78 beneficiaries); Anunas (96); and Agapito Del Rosario (28).

City Solo Parents Affairs Focal Person Rebecca Peñaranda said that the beneficiaries are those who were registered with the solo parents affairs office from January to December 2022.

“Napakalaking bagay po na naalala po ang sector ng mga solo parents ng administrasyon ni Mayor Lazatin,” Peñaranda said.

The cash assistance would be of great help to them, Peñaranda added.

Members of the City Social Welfare and Development Office, led by Edna Duaso, together with Peñaranda will assist Mayor Lazatin during the distribution.

According to Peñaranda, the house-to-house distribution is now easier since the database for the solo parents’ community in the city’s 33 barangays has been updated and organized.

In 2020 and 2021, indigent registered solo parents also received ₱1,000 cash aid from the city government.

Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas recently presided a meeting for the distribution with Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, City Social Welfare and Development Office Admin Head Chrysalene Cunanan, and Gender and Development Officer Mina Cabiles.
