PORAC, Pampanga — A garbage truck draining liquid from decaying wastes had been apprehended in Barangay Babo Sacan here on Wednesday morning.
The truck with plate number NBM 1282 was driven by Renato Dela Peña when caught in the act disposing foul-odor liquid at around 11:am amid mounting complaints from residents of Barangays Babo Sacan, Planas, Pio, and Barangay Calantas in Floridablanca town.
A live video uploaded by a certain Fred Paras noted the garbage truck driver was caught engaging in “patiktik,” or the draining of foul-smelling liquid effluent reaching the office of barangay officials of Babo Sacan.
Barangay Captain Ronnie Mercado together with barangay tanods immediately went to the area and apprehended the truck driver.
Mercado said the they only warned the driver and later released with the truck and sent back where it came from.
Earlier, some 5,000 residents of Barangay Planas had been urging the government to shut down the operations of Prime Waste, a Materials Recovery Facility (MRF).
Barangay Planas Barangay Captain Alfer Nacu said more than 100 garbage trucks enter Purok 1 on a daily basis.
Nacu said garbage trucks carrying garbage juice are not allowed to enter Barangay Planas.
