Only One Earth: Army’s 24IB Joins World Environment Day Celebration

Troops of 24th Infantry (Wildcat) Battalion of the Philippine Army conduct a nationwide simultaneous tree planting in observance of the Philippine Environment Month this June 2022.

FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – In observance of the Philippine Environment Month this June 2022, the Troops of 24th Infantry (Wildcat) Battalion, Philippine Army through the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) together with Abra Police Provincial Office and other representatives from selected offices conducted recently a nationwide simultaneous tree planting activity dubbed as “Aksyon Para Sa Natatanging Mundo”.


According to Maj. Laurencio O. Panit Jr, Officer-In-Charge of 24IB, a total of five hundred three (503) non-fruit bearing trees (Pine Trees, Bamboo and Acacia Trees) were planted by 112 participants in a 1.5 hectares different planting sites at Cassamata Hill, National Park Zone 05, Bangued, Abra.


“Your 24IB can rest assured that we will always work with peace stakeholders to protect mother nature, and at the same time, look for always to alleviate for caring and protecting the environment and providing for the health of the needy people”. Maj. Panit Jr, added.

Meanwhile MGen Andrew Costelo PA, Commander, 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division applauded the 24th Infantry (Wildcat) Battalion, PENRO, and the Abra Police Provincial Office for the initiative of preserving and protecting our mother nature. “The Kaugnay Troopers is here not just to protect the people but also to protect our environment. I encourage everyone to actively participate in activities like this. It is our responsibility to protect not only the peace in our country but also to preserve its beauty.”
