PORMAL nang binuksan sa publiko ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Transportation (DOTr) at NLEX Corporation ang bagong two-lane road na magsisilbing alternatibong daan papasok at palabas ng Meycauayan City at Marilao, Bulacan sa ginanap na opening ceremony nitong Lunes, Marso 21.
Isang inaugural drive-thru ceremony ang isinagawa sa pangunguna ng mga local government unit Bulacan 4th District Representative Henry Villarica at asawa nitong si Meycauayan City Mayor Linabelle Ruth Villarica, Marilao Mayor Ricardo Silvestre, Meycauayan City Vice Mayor Josefina Violago, Marilao Vice Mayor Henry Lutao kasama ang mga opisyales na sina DPWH Assistant Regional Director Denise Maria Ayag, Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) Chief of Regulation Division Joz Carlos Ordillano, NLEX Corporation Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management Donna Marcelo sa mismong site ng Meycauayan-Marilao East Service Road.
Ang nasabing bagong service road ay umokupa ng bahagi ng NLEX right of way (ROW) sakop ng Barangay Lias sa bayan ng Marilao at ang konstruksyon ay pamamahalaan ng DPWH Region 3 ayon kay District Engineer George Santos of the Bulacan 2nd District Engineering Office.
Nabatid na ito ay isa sa government’s traffic decongestion projects na layuning mas maiayos ang Bulacan road network, boosting the economic activities sa lalawigan at ma-experience ng publiko ang travel convenience.
Ayon kay Cong. Villarica ang pagbubukas ng naturang service road ay makakatulong para mapagaan ang traffic volume sa Meycauayan-Marilao corridor at makaiwas sa MacArthur Highway at iba pang mtrapikong kalsadahan.
“We are grateful that the service road has been completed as this is greatly beneficial in addressing the increasing traffic volume in our City,” sabi ni Meycauayan City Mayor Linabelle Ruth R. Villarica.
“We are delighted to help the government in providing safer roads and better mobility to our host communities in Meycauayan and Marilao. This service road also augments our efforts to relieve mounting traffic at our interchanges,” ayon kay NLEX Corporation Vice President Donna Marcelo.
