GGB honors outstanding barangay projects, workers in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS – Another batch of outstanding barangay projects and barangay workers and officials was once again recognized as the Provincial Government of Bulacan conferred the Gawad Galing Barangay award in a program held at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city last Wednesday (November 16, 2022).

 

Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong’ Go congratulated the awardees and recognized the crucial role of barangay officials and workers in delivering public service to their constituents.

“Naiintindihan ko po ang inyong trabaho. Ang mga kapitan sila ang unang nalalapitan ng mga tao. Sila ang nagdadala ng mga serbisyo sa ating mga barangay,” the senator said.

Go vowed to push for bills that will benefit the Filipinos in the barangay level.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando thanked the barangay officials for their initiatives and sacrifices that serve as the pillar of dreams of the citizenry.

“Buong puso ko kayong pinasasalamatan sa pagtugon sa tawag ng paglilingkod at pamumuno. Sa mga panahong lubhang kinakailangan ng ating mga kababayan ang paggabay at pagmamalasakit, bukas-palad ninyo silang sinamahan, tinulungan at pinaglingkuran,” the governor said.

For his part, Vice Gov. Alexis Castro encouraged those in barangay service to love their work, whether they are an official or not.

Castro said the barangay servants should be given honor at every opportunity. Whether their contribution is small or big, their initiatives need to be given love.

“Saludo po ako sa inyong pagpupursige na tumuklas ng yaman ng ating lalawigan. Sa pamamagitan po ninyo ay nabibigyan ng pagkakataon ang ating mga Kapitan, mga Kagawad, mga kawani ng barangay, at volunteers upang isagad sa pinakamataas na antas ang paglilingkod sa ating bayan,” Castro said.

Brgy. Loma de Gato, Marilao bagged three awards as Brgy. Captain Ma. Lourdes I. San Andres was hailed as the Natatanging Punong Barangay and took home P50,000 and plaque of recognition; their program “Paglalapit sa Tao ng Mabuting Pamamahala” was recognized as one of the five Natatanging Gawaing Pambarangay and received P100,000 and plaque of recognition; and Brgy. Secretary Vanessa Karla O. Endaya was awarded with the Natatanging Kalihim and was given P20,000 and plaque of recognition.

Other winners for the Natatanging Gawaing Pambarangay that went home with P200,000 and a plaque of recognition each include “Kalinisan, Kalusugan at Kapayapaan: Tungo sa Sama-samang Pag-unlad ng Pamayanan” of Bagong Nayon, Baliwag; “Sa Tunay na Serbisyo, Makakamit ang Pagbabago” of Lambakin, Marilao; “Kalikasan at Edukasyon sa Panahon ng Pandemya” of Pinagbarilan, Baliwag; and “Linis Mo, Dagdag Kita Mo, Tulong pa sa Kabarangay Mo!” of Tarcan, Baliwag.

Also, barangay projects of Barangays Caingin, Malolos; Sta. Clara, Santa Maria; Tabang, Plaridel; and Biñang 2nd, Bocaue were honored with the Trailblazer Award and received P50,000 each.

In addition, Johnny A. Marcelo of Agnaya, Plaridel was the Natatanging Kagawad ng Barangay; Edwin V. Lopez of Lumang Bayan, Plaridel was hailed as the Hall of Fame awardee for Natatanging Barangay Tanod; Rosemarie J. Estrellado of Pagala, Baliwag was the Natatanging Barangay Training and Employment Coordinator; Vilma DC. Gan of Poblacion, Guiguinto was the Natatanging Barangay Health Worker; Mary Ann V. Dimla of Piel, Baliwag was the Natatanging Mother Leader; and Imelda V. Lopez of San Jose, Paombong was the Natatanging Lingkod Lingap sa Nayon. Each awardees received P20,000 and a plaque of recognition.

Lastly, Pinagkaisang Lakas ng Kababaihan of Bunsuran I, Pandi was hailed as the Natatanging Volunteer Group and received P50,000 and a plaque of recognition.

GGB is a project under the Bulacan Awards Program for Barangay Innovation and Excellence (BAPBIE) of the PGB that aims to recognize the contribution of barangays in the development of the province.
