FORMER CTG MEMBER SURRENDER IN BULACAN 

Camp General Alejo S Santos, City of Malolos — a former member of a Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) or Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) voluntarily surrendered to Bulacan PNP in DRT, Bulacan on October 17, 2022. 

Col Relly Arnedo, Officer-In-Charge, Bulacan Police Provincial Office (BUL PPO) stated that the surrenderee was identified as alias Ka Manuel50 years old, a farmer, and a former member of Bagong Hukbong Bayan or New People’s Army (NPA), he acted as a Team Leader in 1991 operating in the Provinces of Quezon and Zambales.

PLTCOL LAURENTE A ACQUIOT, Force Commander, 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) said that on October 17, 2022 at about 01:40 PM, consolidated efforts together with 1st PMFC facilitated the surrender of Ka Manuel to the government.

Alias Ka Manuel expressed his interest to know more about the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), during the conduct of Symposium and Outreach Program by the mobile force company at Brgy. Kalawakan, DRT. 

The surrendered former CTG member is presently under the custody of 2nd PMFC for documentation and debriefing.

The community-based approach of the Bulacan Police with its outreach programs and information drive on the government’s program that aims to help the rebel members of CPP-NPA-NDF and Militia ng Bayan to restore their allegiance to the Philippine government dubbed as E-CLIP has raised awareness and sympathy from former rebels to return to the folds of the government.
