CITY OF MALOLOS – With the objective of ensuring a stable supply of affordable and quality agricultural products to consumers, Gov. Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Gov Alexis C. Castro ramped up the launch of Katuwang sa Diwa at Gawa Para sa Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita (KADIWA) ng Pangulo 2023 in Bulacan yesterday in front of the Capitol Gymnasium here coinciding the grand launch led by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. at the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
Fernando bought majority of the products on display and distributed them to Bulakenyos who attended the activity which composed of Volunteer Workers, Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) beneficiaries and employees among others.
Spearheaded by the Provincial Administrator’s Office, Provincial Agriculture Office and Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office together with DTI, DSWD, DOLE, NFA and DILG, a total of 39 exhibitors in Bulacan participated in the program which garnered a total of P550,734 sales consisting of farmers and fisherfolks, small and medium enterprises and other local manufacturers.
Meanwhile, PBBM led the signing of the memorandum of agreement on the establishment of Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) in local government units nationwide through a Zoom conference wherein 82 other provinces and 16 cities nationwide joined the simultaneous conduct of KNP activities.
Despite the modernization in the province, Fernando expressed his support for Bulacan being an agricultural province and said that the government should guide its community towards self-sufficiency.
“Sa mithiin pong ito, malaki ang papel ng ating local government units upang maipatupad ng maayos at mapalawig ang sakop ng KNP sa ating komunidad. Ang tunay pong kahulugan ng hatid nating serbisyo-publiko ay ang tulungan ang ating mga kababayan na tumayo sa sarili nilang mga paa. Kailangan nating maging self-sufficient upang malampasan ang mga pagsubok ng panahon at upang yakapin ang progresong dumarating sa atin,” the governor said.
Kadiwa ng Pangulo is a direct-to-consumer marketing strategy which supports both farmers and consumers by providing fair prices to farmers while offering affordable and accessible products to the public.
