Ex-rebels get livelihood assistance in Aurora 

E-Clip provides livelihood assistance to former rebels in Aurora

FORT MAGSAYSAY, Nueva Ecija – Six former rebels (FRs) in Aurora received Php290,000 worth of immediate and livelihood assistance under the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-Clip) at Governor’s Conference Room, Capitol Compound, Barangay Suklayin, here on Friday, August 26, 2022.

The cash benefits personally awarded by the Aurora provincial task force to end local communist armed conflict’s (ELCAC) officials to the FRs wherein four of them gets Php65K immediate and livelihood assistance while the two others were Php15K immediate assistance to help the former members of the communist terrorist group as they go back to mainstream society

In his statement, Lieutenant Colonel Julito B Recto Jr, Commander of 91st Infantry “Sinagtala” Battalion, pointed out the importance of sincerity of the FRs while turning back to the mainstream society.

“I congratulate you all for your decision to be with us in the government. The long process of waiting has come on the availment of the Enhanced Local Integration Program (E-CLIP). It was made possible now and this is proof that our government is sincere in attaining lasting peace. Our Task force is here to give various assistance to our FRs. Show your sincerity and help us to end armed conflict in this province. If you still have access to the dismantled Komiteng Larangang Guerilla Sierra Madre (KLG-SM) help us to surrender in a peaceful way,” Lt Col Recto said.

Meanwhile, Major General Andrew D Costelo, Commander of 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division is hopeful that this is the start of the peaceful life of this FR and is looking forward in collaborating to maintain peace and order in the province of Aurora.
