PUBLIC Works and Highways Region III Director Roseller Tolentino in a statement said that the first day of operation of the “Lakbay Alalay” stations throughout Region III went smoothly except for the three (3) incidents reported by the Pampanga 1st and Nueva Ecija 1st District Engineering Offices.
“Our 14 district engineering offices immediately deployed their maintenance teams on major roads throughout the region to oversee the operations of our motorist assistance centers. Yesterday, we received reports that our teams in Pampanga and Nueva Ecija were able to respond to three emergency road situations,” Tolentino said.
Nueva Ecija 1st District Engineering Office
• Nueva Ecija 1st District Engineer Armando Manabat reported a vehicular accident that occurred in Brgy. Capintalan in Carranglan around 6:30 a.m. yesterday. The Motorist Assistance Team assigned to the area immediately assisted by putting up traffic road signs to warn passing motorists, and towed the damaged vehicle to the nearest police station.
• At around 12:00 in the morning, a vehicle traveling on Pinagpanaan-Rizal-Pantabangan Road overheated and the maintenance team helped fix its engine cooling fan.
Pampanga 1st District Engineering Office
• Pampanga 1st District Engineer Almer Miranda reported that their motorist assistance team helped in managing traffic after an accident occurred at the K0075+900 (Sindalan) section of the Manila North Road, in front of Richtown I, City of San Fernando, involving three (3) vehicles and one (1) motorcycle. The said incident happened around 3:30 p.m. and Pampanga 1st DEO personnel continued to provide assistance until the accident site was cleared
