Employees of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Aurora District Engineering Office (DEO) joined a fun run on August 12, 2023, as part of the festivities of Akkaw Baler 2023 under the theme “Baler: Masagana sa Sining at Kultura, Malakas na Turismo, Makabagong Mamamayan, Susi sa Progresibong Bayan”.
Over 40 ADEO employees together with representatives from different local government units (LGUs) and from both the private and public sectors took part in the said event that started at the Baler Welcome Arch and ending at the Baler Municipal Plaza.
District Engineer Roderick A. Andal expressed his support, stating that it is a great way to promote physical activity and community spirit, and commended the Municipality of Baler for organizing this event, and for its ongoing efforts to improve the quality of life for its residents.
The Akkaw Baler Festivities, which celebrate the Feast of Patron Saint San Luis Obispo de Tolosa and the Birth Anniversary of the late President Manuel Luis Quezon, kicked off on August 5 and will run until August 19, 2023. The event will culminate in a Parada ng Bayan (People’s Parade) and a Commemorative Program.
