DILG inspects infra projects in Malolos Public Market

MALOLOS CITY (PIA) — Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) inspected projects it funded inside and within the premises of the Malolos Public Market.

It includes the construction of roads and drainage and rehabilitation of the wet section in barangay San Vicente which were funded under the 2021 Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (FALGU).

DILG Provincial Director Myrvi Apostol-Fabia said FALGU provides allocation to provinces, municipalities, cities and barangays for development projects.

“Construction of roads and drainage in the barangay is 71 percent complete while rehabilitation of the wet section is 69 percent complete,” Fabia disclosed.

Other FALGU-funded projects in the Malolos Public Market include roofing of covered walkway; rehabilitation and concreting of meat, fish, and dry section; and rehabilitation of drainage and drainage cover.

Meanwhile, DILG also earmarked the storm drainage extension in barangay Mabolo under the Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Assistance Program (DRRAP).

“DRRAP provides funds to local government units so that they can recover and bounce back their economy after a calamity,” Fabia explained.

That project in barangay Mabolo is 100% complete.
