CITY OF MALOLOS – Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando joined the Diocese of Malolos in cooperation with the Military Ordinariate of the Philippines in welcoming the Pilgrim Relics of St. Therese of the Child Jesus for her 5th Philippine visit in celebration of her 150th birth anniversary and 100th beatification anniversary by leading in the recitation of the prayer to St. Therese of the Child Jesus in front of the Bulacan Provincial Capitol in this city on Friday, January 27, 2023.
The centennial reliquary, which will visit different parts of the country, came from the Basilica of Lisieux, France and it contains her leg bone (right femur) and it is set to visit the Diocese of Malolos from January 26 to 28, 2023.
According to Fernando, welcoming and accepting the relics of St. Therese helps the Bulakenyos in strengthening their faith.
Meanwhile, Bro. Luis Tan of the Diocese of Malolos also said that by giving significance to this practice gives fulfillment to her duty as a Catholic missionary.
Yung pagdating sa atin ni St. Therese ay napaka halaga sapagkat to welcome the relics is to welcome the saint herself. Tan explained.
The Pilgrim Relics of St. Therese of the Child Jesus was then taken to Camp Alejo Santos for a holy mass led by Bishop Dennis C. Villarojo.
